Daniel Raper, MD

Daniel Raper, MBBS, is a neurosurgeon and neuroendovascular surgeon who cares for patients with conditions affecting the brain's blood vessels (cerebrovascular disease). He performs both traditional open surgeries and minimally invasive endovascular procedures.

Dr. Raper is dedicated to advancing safer, less invasive care options for cerebrovascular disease. He frequently treats people at risk for brain bleeds and stroke, including those without symptoms. His expertise covers aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and fistulas, carotid artery disease, intracranial vascular disease, and ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes.

Passionate about his patients, Dr. Raper makes sure they understand every aspect of their conditions and treatment plans. He's there to help them make confident decisions about their health. "Seeing the benefit for my patients and the lasting impact of our care is the number one reason why I do what I do," he says.

He's also interested in how experts can use artificial intelligence to better understand and treat cerebrovascular disease.

Dr. Raper has been named Educator of the Year by the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS). He's active in many national societies, including the CNS, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery (SNIS).

Outside of work, Dr. Raper enjoys spending time with his family, staying active at his local gym and exploring Bay Area trails.
