Roozbeh Mohajer, MD
Hematology Oncology
Accepting new patients
Dr. Roozbeh Mohajer is a medical hematologist-oncologist who also specializes in hospice and palliative care. Experienced in treating all types of cancers and blood disorders, he has a particular interest in cancers of the lung and breast.
Dr. Mohajer is passionate about his role as a doctor and takes great pleasure in the long-term relationships he develops with his patients, whom he strives to treat like his own family.
"My patients are in the most vulnerable time in their lives," he notes. "It's rewarding to walk with them through the process and relieve some of their burden."
Part of his dedication to patients includes a commitment to keep up with rapid advances in the field of oncology. He's excited about new clinical trials and treatments that help cancer patients live longer with fewer side effects.
"There is a lot happening in oncology,'' he says. "We can help so many more people today than we could even a couple of years ago.''
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Mohajer is an avid athlete, musician and artist. In his free time, you may find him skiing, hiking, swimming or playing tennis. He enjoys playing the piano and barbat (lute), as well as calligraphy.
Dr. Mohajer is married to Anahid Hekmat, MD, a neurologist and sleep medicine specialist who practices at El Camino Health's Los Gatos Hospital in the sleep disorders program. They live with their two young children in the Bay area.
