Shahil Mehta, MD, MPH, is a radiation oncologist with a commitment to providing personalized high-quality care. He uses advanced radiation therapy techniques to deliver precise and effective treatment for a variety of cancers including breast, prostate, lung, head and neck, gastrointestinal, skin and gynecological cancers.
Dr. Mehta's expertise spans several advanced radiation techniques, including 3D-conformal external beam radiation therapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), adaptive radiotherapy, stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS).
Dr. Mehta works to build strong patient relationships. He takes time to listen and understand each patient's concerns, goals and priorities. After educating them about their condition and treatment options, Dr. Mehta designs a care plan that meets their unique needs and preferences and ensures they receive the highest level of care. He combines precision with compassion and offers his patients reassurance through each step of their treatment journey.

Throughout his career, Dr. Mehta has been recognized for his work. He graduated cum laude from Harvard University earning his bachelor's degree in evolutionary biology. Continuing his education, he attended the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he additionally completed a master's in public health. Thereafter, he continued his radiation oncology residency at the University of Southern California where he was selected to serve as chief resident. He was entrusted by both his leaders and his peers to guide the team of residents. In this role, he developed a deeper understanding of teamwork, leadership and patient care. Since then, he has been involved in several prestigious medical societies who have also recognized his work. He is an active member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and the American Radium Society, which provide valuable platforms for staying at the forefront of advancements in radiation oncology. Additionally, Dr. Mehta has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has presented his research at national and international conferences.

Outside of work, Dr. Mehta likes spending time outdoors - whether hiking or enjoying a quiet moment in nature. He also enjoys traveling and exploring new cuisines.
