Dr. Kula has special interests in reconstructive spinal surgery in adults and adolescents. His practice focuses on the evaluation and treatment of various spinal disorders including: spinal deformity, degenerative conditions of the spine, as well as spinal trauma, tumors and infections.
Dr. Kula is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Scoliosis Research Society and the North American Spine Society.
Dr Kula has coauthored several journal articles and scientific presentations. His research interests in spine surgery have included: Platelet Rich Plasma, Autologous Growth Factors, Blood Conservation Strategies, Coblation, Neurophysiologic Monitoring, Post-operative Pain Management and Surgical Outcome Assessment. He holds a patent in conjunction with ArthroCare Corporation on "Methods for Targeted Electrosurgery on Contained Herniated Discs".
