Valerie Traina is one of the best doctors I have ever had. She's clinically excellent and show great interest in her patients as an individual. I drive 5 hours from Reno to see Dr. Traina.

The care provider answered two of my main questions during the visit. Dr. Traina provided the PET scan results, explaining that the scan was positive for cancer in my right breast. She also clarified that the cancer had not spread to any organs in my body. Dr. Traina showed care by explaining the next procedure and outlining the steps that would follow. I expressed uncertainty about the spot located in my left breast and the need for a biopsy to determine whether it was cancerous. Dr. Traina is a trained and experienced breast surgeon, but traveling to her office in Los Gatos is inconvenient. It is also difficult to contact her directly because her phone number is connected to Willow Glen Imaging, which is associated with El Camino Hospital. I hope that El Camino Hospital in Mountain View hires an experienced female breast surgeon, as this would be more convenient for patients and for me.

Dr. Traina is the best. She has been with me since I was first diagnosed with breast cancer, and even though I'm an "easy" case, she gives me the same attention that she would with anyone else. I feel incredibly fortunate to have her with me through the entire journey.

I am so happy to be under the care of Dr. Traina - she is wonderful and listens to my concerns and cares about me as a "person".

As I said previously, I could tell Dr. Traina really cared about me because we always had eye to eye contact. She wasn't buried in the computer acting simply as a manager of my health. Dr. Traina says she much prefers to do the computer work between appointments. She is a true professional and caretaker.

During my visit, Dr. Traina reviewed my MRI results and expressed that she was pleased to see only two lymph nodes confirmed as cancerous. She explained that a third lymph node appeared dense on imaging, making it unclear whether it was cancerous or not. Based on this uncertainty, Dr. Traina recommended that a third biopsy be scheduled to determine the status of that lymph node. Her explanation helped me understand the next steps needed to clarify my diagnosis and guide my treatment plan.
