Cheng-an Tony Chien, MD, is a primary care and sports medicine provider at El Camino Health. He helps people stay fit and healthy so they can safely participate in activities they enjoy.

Patient education is a passion for Dr. Chien, who partners with each person to make informed decisions about their care. "I understand that everybody has different lifestyles and goals in life," he says. "I've found that presenting patients with the most updated information and involving them in the decision-making process allows them to be at their happiest."

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Dr. Chien came to El Camino Health to be part of a team that cares about keeping members of the local community healthy.

In addition to English, Dr. Chien is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, backpacking, tennis and basketball.
