Kaye A. Lu, MD, MPH, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained breast surgeon who specializes in benign (noncancerous) and malignant (cancerous) breast conditions.

Dr. Lu is passionate about building trusted relationships with her patients. Her goal is to guide them through their care with compassion, clarity and honesty.

She believes every patient deserves to feel heard and supported, especially during their most vulnerable moments. That starts with listening, understanding her patients' goals and working together to create a care plan. "It's incredibly fulfilling to be a part of someone's healing process in a deeper, more personal way," she shares.

Dr. Lu has a particular interest in oncoplastic breast surgery - an approach that combines cancer removal with techniques to preserve or restore the natural appearance of the breast. Dr. Lu is excited to offer oncoplastic options to her patients, so they can feel whole and confident after treatment.

Throughout her career, Dr. Lu has been involved in studies to improve surgical care and patient outcomes. She has received several academic awards and honors for her research and leadership. Her projects have shaped how she thinks about healthcare. "It's not just about procedures, but also how patients feel, recover and move forward with their lives," she explains.

Dr. Lu is also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese, which allows her to care for patients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and help them feel at ease during their treatment.

Outside of work, Dr. Lu enjoys hiking, paddleboarding and running with her black lab. She's always eager to explore new places - especially when it involves good food.
